Hayes Creek Trail

For experienced walkers only, the Hayes Creek Trail is a full-day 19km hike. The trail begins with the Sawpit Gully Trail (from the Bush Creek end) then turns left to climb Big Hill. The trail then descends down the other side of Big Hill and travels through Hayes Creek past an old mining settlement including Shamrock Cottage.

The trail can be hard to follow at times so note that Hayes Creek is the second creek from your right looking down. Follow the trail to Macetown Road and back to Arrowtown.
