Patagonia, Mantra and Night and Day will be open on Christmas Day in Arrowtown. Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays.
Running is a popular pastime for many Arrowtown locals and visitors, and it is easy to see why, with the trails and mountains that surround the town. Many of the walking and biking trails within the Queenstown Trail network and Mahu Whenua can also be run – from casual runners to ultra runners, there is a trail for everyone. What better way to get the adrenaline pumping and also get into nature. Arrowtown is also home to a growing number of running events including Motatapu, The Wild, and the Arrowtown Backyard Ultra as well as the iconic Queenstown Marathon
There are a few things to do to make your running experience a great one. In our alpine environment the weather can change quickly so be prepared with layers and water and tell others of your plans. If you’re running in low visibility, take a headlamp and wear bright clothing. If you’re exploring the peaks or remote areas, take a personal locator beacon (PLB) with you.
Explore Arrowtown’s running events, offering routes for all skill levels amidst stunning landscapes and historic sites.
