Stone House Cottage

3 Berkshire Street, Arrowtown, Queenstown, Central Otago, New Zealand.

0508 78 66 34

An exclusive 115 sq metre retreat sits quietly within Arrowtown’s village centre on Arrow Lane, yet it is completely private thanks to the 145-year-old, half-metre thick schist walls, from which Stone Cottage takes its name.

Built in 1863 as the local storehouse, the building’s location in the heart of the bustling goldrush town was essential for business. These days, the storehouse is a beautifully-converted luxury retreat, coveted for its locality to Arrowtown’s award-winning restaurants, cafés, boutique shops and the much photographed Arrow River.

Stone House Cottage: a rare find indeed.

TESTIMONIALS

What a wonderful place to stay. As soon as you pull up outside you can tell that the building is steeped in history and the inside doesn’t disappoint with beautiful natural stone and polished wood. The cottage is spacious yet cosy at the same time especially sitting in front of the wonderful old stone fireplace after a day exploring the area which has everything you could want for a break away.

The cottage is in a lovely setting, literally seconds from all the local conveniences and cafes, bars and restaurants and it was a pleasure to sit in the garden and enjoy the late afternoon sun with the mountains as a backdrop.

Whether you’re after the natural beauty of the spectacular mountain scenery, a trip on the lake on an historic steamer boat, world class vineyards, a day shopping in the Queenstown boutiques or just walking around the local shops and surrounding area, Arrowtown is right in the centre of everything.

We thought it would be the perfect break for anytime of the year and look forward to returning in a different season.

The heavenly garden is another delight, full of gorgeous scents and bird songs to greet you throughout the day.

Lovely attention to detail throughout the cottage, from the gorgeous period furniture, fittings and amazing bathroom through to a well thought out selection of fine local wines. The most comfortable beds with a perfect linen match for the best nights sleep!!
