Lakes District Hospital consists of 21 beds, with a mix of maternity, hospital level elderly care and acute medical.
Emergency Department:
Lakes District Hospital’s Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Open to all emergencies which do not come under the umbrella of GP care. Offers treatment and stabilisation of acute presentations and injuries. Patients may be transferred to Southland or Dunedin hospitals or the ward.
Inpatient Services:
Ward Visiting Hours – 11 am to 6.00 pm daily. Children are not to be left unsupervised on hospital grounds. Please note that at times the number of visitors might be limited due to infection control policies. If possible keep visitors to one or two people at a time.
Outpatient Clinics:
Lakes District Hospital Outpatients Department is open from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Mon – Fri and includes three consultation rooms and two telemedicine rooms.
