The Stitching Post carries a vast array of New Zealand fabric designs as well as theme fabrics, plain blending fabric, batiks and novelty fabrics. There is a large selection of cross-stitch kits as well as embroidery kits featuring Rowandean and Jane Van Keulen.
One corner of the shop is dedicated to the tools of the trade. Here the avid quilter will find all those specials things that make quilting far easier and rewarding. The right tool at the right time makes everything flow. The tools corner is not only for quilters. Many of these handy tools are used in everyday life and can make those simple tasks that take time so very easy.
There is also a large selection of quilting books by world renowned authors like Gail Lawther, Kaffe Fassett, Karin Hellaby and many more. Books that would suit everyone ranging from beginner to expert. There are also Creative Craft Kits, panels and patterns, fat quarters and Blocks of the Month that go to make up this shop of opportunities.
Alongside the shelves of fabric, the walls are covered in colour - ranges of knitting yarn, including Touch, Naturally, Alpaca, Colinette, and so much more. Knitting and crocheting patterns and books, needles and hooks, including the fabulous Knitpro range. Buttons, novelty buttons and ribbons to brighten up any project.
One of the best things about The Stitching Post is the staff. Anne, the owner, brings a lifetime of experience to the area and is always happy to help in any way possible. Dorota and Sue are part of the team, and together they all are willing to help customers - from helping to choose fabrics to make that special quilt, to advising on machine techniques and even to repairing sewing problems that people are having trouble with. Helping with knitting and crocheting is also part of the service.
